Life Segment

Most think they have, but one life to live;
with conflicts and sorrows; to endure.
Each lifetime; is a segment; learning to give;
death comes; all sorrows; to cure.

All must die; to be born again; and again;
life isn’t a singular book or novel;
in some lives, we lose; in others; we win;
in some; we soar; in others; grovel.

Each name we bear; is a separate lifetime;
teaching us; what we must learn;
to our Lord; we all have a separate lifeline;
a fact; very few can discern.

Faith is the lifeline we’ve all been given;
tho, to each, in different degrees;
love is the energy; by which all are driven;
flowing in the soft Autumn breeze.

Most think this life segment is all there is;
but, this life is God’s; not our own;
all of our successes, and failures; are His;
this flesh of ours; is merely on loan.

We are but thoughts; projected by the Master;
owner of the cattle on a thousand hills;
we all are, simply, the sheep of His pasture;
He is responsible and pays all the bills.

Life is the line that goes on, without end;
each soul is only a life fragment;
Love; the perfection; to which all ascend;
every lifetime is but a life segment.
