I hereby direct this message to you;
more than anyone else on my mind;
for you, the presence of life, imbue;
and so I say, “Life, be kind.”
For you are the one I see every day;
in every facet of your being;
we interact in most every way;
reality, each of us, seeing.
Sometimes you are a customer;
one whom I’m trying to serve;
other times; a reckless driver;
one who requires I swerve.
At times you’ve been the one I beat;
in getting a special new job;
and on others, its been my defeat;
when the boss gave you the nod.
You are very often my competition;
no matter what happens; you win;
and unless I enjoy repetition;
greater effort I need to put in.
Perhaps you’re one who’d mugged me;
smacked me, when I am not looking;
I’d far much rather you’d hugged me;
than to hit me, and then start booking.
Whomever you are; and wherever you go;
you know we’re part of what God began;
since we are neighbors you need to know;
“Love your neighbor” is God’s plan.
So when you’re loving, kissing and hugging;
your attitude must always be defined;
and even if you are, instead, just mugging;
He still requires: Life, be kind.
