Life As A Toddler
Life As A Toddler
I started out this life as a baby;
with all knowledge concealed;
playing with toys you gave me;
slowly some truths, revealed.
Rapidly moving my hands and feet;
I slowly learned how to crawl;
trying to stand; I fell on my seat;
my voice began as a squall.
Soon, I learned to stand up and walk;
my legs; wobbly and unsteady;
you tried your best to teach me to talk;
I would do so; when I was ready.
For, tho you were great; and I was small;
I ignored your knowledge and seniority;
someday your power; would make me tall;
to be able to convey your authority.
All authority and wisdom lie planted within;
concealed by arrogance and pride;
thru contrition and faith; all must begin;
exposing who we are; inside.
As a mere toddler; I wobbled through life;
through youth; and then, middle age;
given your blessings of sorrows and strife;
through troubles; you’ve made me a sage.
I am unworthy to share elevated thought;
only by faith can I see;
through my weakness; your strength is taught;
by an unworthy toddler; like me.
