Lies, Lies, Lies
There’s little more toxic than telling a lie;
it’s a form of reality reversal;
saying goodnight; when you mean goodbye;
like the demons conducting rehearsal.
A promise made with love’s syrupy tone;
by one who’s the world to you;
never thinking you’ll be left all alone;
it’s something that you’d never do.
Contracts are promises, meant to engage;
but promises are made to be broken;
with loopholes planted on every page;
those promises were just merely token.
Some say a man’s word is his bond;
such thoughts have lost their meaning;
for, how to such do you respond;
while the truth, they’re oft concealing?
Truth’s interlaced thru the reality net;
with lies subtly hidden in between;
you never know, when it’s honesty you get;
for the lies often go unseen.
If you’ve ever at all been a teller of lies;
I’m certain that you’ll understand;
the Master of all, might well apprise:
that you’re not living how He planned.
When you’re the victim of someone’s lies;
it can make all your world feel unreal;
to thoughts in your mind, the Master replies:
“Now, you finally know how I feel.”
