Lessons Of Failure
Lessons Of Failure
How can failure reveal truths of life;
what wisdom can failure speak;
what makes peace permeate strife;
making love achieve its peak?
What makes sin the expert on love;
how can betrayal learn to serve;
only the Master can teach from above;
what arrogance gives me the nerve?
How does denial achieve any purpose;
gazing at God, from afar?
Wisdom and truth are destined to surface;
only God knows what we are.
We can only see life’s flawed illusions;
we fail to see deep within;
death shall reveal God’s conclusions;
from God; did all things begin.
As I grow old; I feel I’ve been taught;
experience has punished me;
in the midst of sorrow; wisdom is brought;
opening my eyes, to see.
What testimony can a failure give;
to the children of tomorrow;
mere thoughts of one, learning to live;
laced with frustration and sorrow.
One lesson, learned, is to love thy neighbor;
wherever that neighbor might be;
all those who so love; shall find God’s favor;
throughout all eternity.
