Leaves Of Life

Leaves Of Life

I’ve lived my life; awaiting tomorrow;
my futures have come and gone;
all my dreams; dissolved into sorrow;
without hope, my life lingers on.

My thoughts; flooded with depression;
promises, drenched by rains;
my remaining hope is confession;
with my past; engulfed in flames.

I started out life; with great expectations;
tho my efforts flamed out fast;
I built my future on solid foundations;
but nothing will forever last.

All of life is an ebb; and then flow;
nothing, created; can long remain;
the constant changes make us grow;
beautiful flowers thrive in rain.

Life, itself, is very much like the weather;
carefully balanced by sunshine and rain;
when the storms end; all things get better;
from the worst loss; comes the best gain.

We are all leaves; from the tree of life;
challenged to weather its storm;
hurricanes of sorrow; tornadoes of strife;
sunshine to keep us all warm.

In the Autumn of life; all leaves must fall;
the garden becomes their tomb;
leaves are destined to answer death’s call;
becoming new life in the womb.
