Kiss Of Dreams

I looked into your eyes of yesterday;
lovers; many lifetimes, ago;
my thoughts slowly became today;
how could a dead love grow?

It was a time, I was seeking tomorrow;
I no longer could stand today;
overflowing in heartache and sorrow.
my love; simply, went on her way.

For sure, it was many lifetimes ago;
it seemed; we were both in a trance;
your lovely face, covered with snow;
and my heart asked you to dance.

We were young; the world was cold;
we both began to shiver;
love’s attraction, made two hearts old;
causing our lips to quiver;

For, even then; we were not strangers;
we’d been in love, lifetimes, before;
enduring heartbreakes and dangers;
till death eventually closed the door.

A love, over lifetimes, was still going;
longing for what we’d missed;
now, reaping what we’d been sowing;
imprisoned by passion’s kiss.

In the midst of the kiss; my eyes awaken;
life is never what it seems;
my love wasn’t there; I was mistaken;
it was only a kiss of dreams.
