Kicking And Screaming
Kicking And Screaming
Why do most choose to revist the past;
do we think we’ll somehow change it?
Empiracally, we know the present can’t last;
do we think we’re able to rearrrange it?
What events from our past, have our appeal;
are they our past failures; or success?
Usually, it’s embarrassment which has our zeal;
leaving our minds; in a state of undress.
Life; somehow has lost all of its meaning;
knowing that this kingdom won’t last;
evil thoughts drag us; kicking and screaming;
into the annals of our unforgiven past.
Even tho we; by the Master, are forgiven;
we still can’t let that past go;
our mind becomes stubborn and driven;
may our past, melt like the snow.
Of all those memories we need to forget;
they rarely go away very soon;
especially; our guilt; and all we regret;
our mind needs a dustpan and broom.
Bitterness leaves a bad taste in our mouth;
one, most reluctant, to come out;
from its taste; all our lives go south;
bitterness is what hate is about.
Like God; we all must be slow to anger;
and lightning quick to forgive;
otherwise; we find our future in danger;
love is the only way to live.
