It’s They Who Can’t See
I awakened to begin yet another day;
on a journey to become enlightened;
depending; God will show me the way;
I need not be troubled or frightened.
A world that’s very different; all around;
all sights and sounds are illusions;
life’s complex puzzle tends to confound;
only God has its solutions.
I once was an integral part of this world;
which I comfortably regarded as home;
as I have aged; new energies unfurled;
now, I’ve become completely alone.
There are still many people, nearby;
they still smile and speak to me;
together; we all still laugh and cry;
now, it’s all shrouded in mystery.
Nothing will ever be the same, anymore;
mind discovered what eyes cannot see;
thought has passed through a mystical door;
and, I am becoming no longer me.
In life, I’ve become less a participant;
as its illusions become more clear;
truth and reality appears magnificent;
as the kingdom of heaven draws near.
Others, around me, feel sorry for me;
they think I forget who I am;
instead, it’s they who cannot see;
I am the creation; I am man.
