It’s Our Secret

There is a secret that’s carefully hidden;
within the vault of my mind;
a most intimate secret; I’ll never share;
to do so; would be unkind.

I’m in love with a beautiful woman;
tho she doesn’t know I exist;
I feel her love energy surround me;
almost as tho we kissed.

Her eyes have the sparkle of an angel;
I can see her love, within;
beyond her eyes; is a river of love;
its waters, I long to swim.

I would never hold her in my arms;
I wouldn’t be welcome there;
nor, would I dare to kiss her lips;
or give even a hint I care.

I’m an acquaintence; a distant friend;
I wouldn’t dare ask her to dance;
she would become shocked to discover;
I dream of her and romance.

Nightime is the time for my dream;
dawn is the time for reality;
love is always flowing downstream;
life is a living duality.

Lord, you’re the only one who knows;
I pray that you’ll never tell;
some secrets are destined to remain;
revelations; a road to hell.
