Is Silence Golden

It’s been said; and written in song;
that silence is golden;
depicting a world in which all go along;
to a master; we’re beholden.

The melody was pleasant and nice;
but, what do its sentiments mean:
it’s, actually, the very worst advice;
censorship;  reality’s bad dream.

Should we silence the lion’s roar;
not allow all the birds to sing;
reality is a melodious musical score;
must, in silence, birds, take wing?

Do we silence all; with whom; we disagree;
must we all bask in one opinion:
no longer worthy; not allowed to be free;
is world slavery our new dominion?

The corruption of man is not fit to rule;
tyranny shall become his throne;
teaching only thoughts; as facts, in school;
in silence, all others stay home.

When pride turns to evil; where will we be;
who’s left to quell the rising tide?
Censors will tell us what we can see;
and all will go along for the ride.

Is silence golden; where’s the real proof;
censorship is the death of the free?
The song’s last line, declares bitter truth;
“but my eyes still see!”
