Into Oblivion
Into Oblivion
Many are greatly concerned over security;
fearing what future they may live in;
even more, tend to fear a future obscurity;
as loved ones dissolve into oblivion.
The great question of generations and ages:
“What happens when we die?”
endlessly debated by seers and sages;
causing young children to cry.
Some believe when we die it’s the end;
there’s no place for life, beyond earth;
spirits don’t rise; nor do they descend;
and we can’t depend on new birth.
But others conceive of an energy being;
who created all that there is;
one, well beyond our hearing and seeing;
and the material realm is His.
The masterpiece of life; signed by the Artist;
consciousness declares him to be;
and you don’t have to be the smartest;
for only the fool will not see.
He signed His work with the eagle’s eye;
recycled life, through the vulture’s beak;
He gave mankind the ability to cry;
when sorrows had reached their peak.
In consciousness; this world was his oyster;
inspiring mere men to write Scripture;
this place called earth is within his cloister;
and oblivion was not in His picture;
