In Man's Image
In Man’s Image
How can the created become the creator;
help me to understand;
which of the two is considered greater;
are we made in the image of man?
The true image of God is total perfection;
can mere infants do it all better;
man became known for God’s rejection;
can man even control the weather?
Soon wars broke out in man’s dominions;
its conflicts continued for years;
separations brought forth opposing opinions;
and peace was replaced with tears.
In heaven, the Master faced prodigals’ rejection;
all offenders were promptly banished;
in heaven, the Master restored perfection;
the evil one; swiftly vanquished.
Meanwhile; the earth suffers man’s corruptions;
from its evil; man cannot save;
while peace suffers constant wars’ interruptions;
man lives cradle to grave.
Without God; death casts its long shadow;
over the life of which man is fond;
with man; permanance is buried in a meadow;
with God; there is life, beyond.
How does the created become the creator;
help me to understand;
which of the two is considered greater;
perfection; or the image of man?
