Impenetrable Eyes
In my dreams; she’s simply everywhere;
lost in her love; I’m baptized;
tho she barely even knows I am there;
this woman of impenetrable eyes.
I can’t understand the attachment I have;
my thoughts of her, border on bliss;
for my sadness and pain; she is the salve;
with lips; I so long to kiss.
Her beauty is far more than skin deep;
I can feel her love, flowing out;
a model of womanhood; she is unique;
what true love is about.
I imagine being engulfed in her warm embrace;
praying, she would never leave;
perfection’s statue would wear her face;
a love, I had come to believe.
Her eyes are the focus upon her being;
they take in far more than light;
eyes of an angel from a world, unseen;
pure love in darkest night.
I feel embarrassed; when in her presence;
being awake with my dream;
I am old; the image of convalescence;
a servant; facing his queen;
How can I face this woman of my dream;
while keeping my love a disguise?
She’ll never know; I’m more than I seem;
this woman with impenetrable eyes.
