Images Of Life

Books and movies are narratives of life
portrayed on screens; and on stages;
fantasies of realities; of victories and strife;
spread on screens; and printed pages.

We each have our favorites on every menu;
we’re unique in every way;
we also differ in our choices of venue;
some watch movies; others, a play.

On our life journey; seeking personal glory;
we find our heroes in stories and song;
in our mind; we’re the hero in each story;
those who can’t sing; still sing along.

In all of those images of life that we see;
we imagine we’re playing a key role;
all my favorite actors; I pretend are me;
their thoughts seem to match my soul.

Actors usually play a great many roles;
characters in books; the same;
so many lives; lived by very few souls;
tell me; what’s in a name.

Is life, iself, much like those stories;
are we just actors; playing a role?
We were actors in failures and glories;
physicality is a picture of the soul.

Light was shed on thought’s above;
and the Book of Life was written;
consciousness; created by God’s love;
in death; that life is forgiven.
