If I Were Thirty Years Younger

If only I were thirty years younger;
what would I be like today;
I would still be healthy and stronger;
and love might look my way.

I would still be in the peak of life;
someone, love might consider;
still able to find the love of a wife;
not become trash or litter.

The road of life would still be long;
beyond what the eye could see;
I would still be virile and strong;
and become what I want to be.

I still awaken, thinking about tomorrow;
not always feeling so good;
yesterday brought me heartache and sorrow;
today, I’m just misunderstood.

For my mind is reaching far beyond today;
I think about all those dreams wasted;
tho someone to love, won’t come my way;
experience is the love, I’ve tasted.

Today I feel love, beyond all imagination;
I can sense it’s presence everywhere;
tho age confines me to mere flirtation;
wisdom gives me love to share.

If only I were thirty years younger;
what would I be like today;
I’d be saddened by worldwide hunger;
watching this world pass away.
