If I Could Only Disappear

If I could suddenly just disappear;
become a mere tear in your eye;
eliminating your sorrows and fear;
never again, making you cry.

If I could, somehow, transform to a thought;
and become a mere figment of your dreams;
imagine the joy and pleasure to be brought;
when life, once again, became as it seems.

Though I’d lose all my ability to interact;
I could still share my love with you;
all my mistakes and misdeeds, I’d redact;
allowing just love and joy to renew.

I would forever be free, to love one and all;
and never again, be the reason for hurt;
for I would be at each one’s beck and call;
and never allowed to desert.

Then all my energies would turn into Love;
and I would exist for no other reason;
always available, both below and above;
at any time; and in any season.

Such would make me, in the image of God;
as He said I was created to be;
devoid of all elements of soil and sod;
from time and space, become free.

Lest you think, it’s my life I will give;
I couldn’t do so; were I to try;
for all of life, was born only to live;
for, Love wasn’t meant to die.
