I May Not Agree

I May Not Agree

I may not agree with much that you say;
in thoughts, we may be worlds apart;
though you might never pass my way;
I still sense that you have a kind heart.

Intellect is the ability to process information;
each of us have it in some measure;
tho we may hold an opposite interpretation;
we all seek after joy, and pleasure.

What pleasure is found in the energy of hate;
can’t you, just be you; and me, be me;
isn’t that really the best way to relate;
can’t we simply agree, to disagree.

I promise that I won’t attempt to change you;
like me, you are set in your way;
we could both talk, until we turn blue;
and the status quo would stay.

You’re a neighbor, I’m commanded to love;
and I am the same thing to you;
tho you may think there’s no God above;
what possible harm could love do?

A family can be a collection of strangers;
without any attraction to each other;
we need each other to face life’s dangers;
we must act like sister and brother.

Evil is the source of all hate and slavery;
please don’t allow it to divide;
renew commitments to truth and bravery;
and always let Love decide.
