I Am A Candle

I am a candle, burning bright;
a flicker of truth, to display;
shining through darkest night;
held by a mere lump of clay.

Few will ever behold my light;
most don’t know I’m here;
mesmerized by dark of night;
wishing God would draw near.

Truth is carried by prevailing winds;
tho darkness blocks out vision;
love is the cure for all of life’s sins;
each must render their own decision.

My flame is but a flicker of proof;
coming from the Master’s plan;
illumination brings forth the truth;
for truth is the I Am.

We often seek signs and wonders;
wherever they may be found;
a wise man considers and ponders;
seeing them all around.

The flicker of my candle is dim, indeed;
compared to the sun in the sky;
throughout the world, are many in need;
the light of truth must never die.

Flickering flames; the Master’s words;
illumination of what love is about;
truth is mightier than a thousand swords;
Lord, don’t let my light go out!
