Happy Thanksgiving

This is the day, the Lord has made;
from sorrows, may all be free;
let the glory of God be on parade;
grant us all, the eyes to see.

Just for a day, set your troubles aside;
basking in peace and tranquility;
in the Master’s love, may we all abide;
granting all others civility.

May this day be our annual celebration;
giving thanks for all we’ve been given;
send all our divisiveness on a vacation;
and, only by love, be driven.

May all understand, we live in God’s favor;
meant to become all he meant us to be;
may all of us learn to love every neighbor;
for, through love, all become free.

Make today be our model for every day;
love makes our enemies a friend;
may love fill hearts, and faith lead the way;
only God can make peace descend.

Make this day become a new tomorrow;
may God’s love light every path;
extinguishing all our pain and sorrow;
his love, turning away wrath.

Join together, on this most festive day;
loving everyone you see;
let the love of God light your way;
and his love. Set us all free.
