Happy Endings

I’ve always preferred a happy ending;
when everything works out fine;
perhaps, I’m even a bit condescending;
thinking God will bring all in line.

For, after all, isn’t life like a book;
written by the Master’s hand?
Anything within; that we undertook;
should turn out like He planned.

All that’s, assuming He only planned good;
and all evil is destined to fail;
unfortuneately, His plan is misunderstood;
we know not what life must entail.

But why must life have an ending at all;
why can’t it continue, uninterrupted?
Must all righteous, someday, suffer a fall;
why is this earth so corrupted?

Everything happens for reasons;
God’s fingerprints are on its design;
lives are all lived within seasons;
ones, only God can define.

One season on earth, is a lifetime;
where all grasses of life must die;
such death in reality, is a lifeline;
all life energies will return in reply.

Both birth and death are transitions
death in winter; rebirth in the spring;
all life goes through juxtapositions;
new life is risen within everything.
