Guilt Of A Lifetime

Guilt Of A Lifetime

We accumulate much throughout our life;
furniture; scrapbooks, and keepsakes;
most of us, attached to a husband or wife;
tho, all of us try to hide our mistakes.

Eventually our mistakes come to define us;
our guilt even overcomes our pride;
such was the Master’s plan to design us;
leaving our guilt no place to hide.

Often we wear our guilt on our face;
usually displayed in our expression;
embarrassment is the sign of disgrace;
our shame then demands confession.

All our guilt, within; has a purpose;
like a volcano; ready to spout;
all guilt must be brought to the surface;
our sins will eventually shout.

In the essence of time; guilt is exposed;
it cannot, forever, be hidden;
the guilty are unable to remain composed;
confessed; sins are forgiven.

Once forgiven; we think they are gone;
we believe we’re able to forget;
yet, vile memories tend to live on;
especially those we regret.

Death is the time when all guilt is forgotten;
through which life still survived;
for, we are the children of the Father begotten;
it’s only sin and guilt that died.
