Green Grass Of Summer
All life develops, from seed to adult;
coming about within seasons;
reborn after death; the natural result;
life cycles have their own reasons.
The grasses provide a seasonal example;
growing in day; at night, they slumber;
the water, gained from rainfall, is ample;
giving us all, the green grass of Summer.
Each blade of that grass is a solitary life;
it is born; and lives; then dies;
summertime storms provide much strife;
but, the green grass of Summer thrives.
The harshness of Winter, kills the grasses;
they all age, and wither, and die;
tho we loved that grass; the winter passes;
and Spring brings a tear to each eye.
The green grass of Summer has left its seed;
for Spring is the growing season;
new life has been grown to supply our need;
life ebbs and flows for a reason.
If all of life, lived only one season;
our memories could never be jewels;
memories can’t live without a reason;
for such, are the memories of fools.
The breath of life signifies the seasons;
its ebb and flow, can cut like a knife;
nothing, ever, happens without reasons;
and, the green grass of Summer is life.
