God’s Revenge

He had given them most everything;
almost nothing was denied;
from his fount did all life spring;
no rebellion was implied.

His demand: they love each other;
was all he asked of them;
to care for each sister and brother,
was where they should begin.

Instead, they sought to mount his throne;
their kingdom to enlarge;
a place designed for him alone;
they’d never be in charge.

For they had stolen higher knowledge;
and they planned to kill the king.
Why should they pay him homage;
once they knew everything?

While they designed their treason;
carefully planned to step in.
He authored another reason;
with another way to begin.

To win, they had sought to destroy;
while he had a better plan.
His higher thoughts he’d employ;
and create a better man.

To topple and mount his revenge;
his ultimate weapon install;
overcoming hate;  to avenge;
with love, he conquered all.
