God’s Greatest Gift
I believe that all are destined for good;
supremely gifted in life;
very often, our destiny is misunderstood;
and failures cut like a knife.
Many are given great physical talents;
that most others wish they had;
life must be lived with a sense of balance;
when out of control; we’re sad.
Pride causes us to constantly compare;
demanding we always must win;
pride, set aside, we can learn to share;
allowing that love enter in.
Often great gifts are hidden within;
ones we don’t even know;
it takes much courage; to even begin;
to make those gifts grow.
All were created to be great artists;
painting life for their father, above;
but, many argue over who’s smartest;
rather than painting a life of love.
Wisdom is a gift given to us all;
wrapped with a subtle bow;
pride enters in; demanding we fall;
before wisdom can grow.
As we grow old; death draws near;
God whispers truth from above;
the ultimate truth reaches our ear;
God’s greatest gift is love.
