For The Thirsty
Give drink to those who thirst;
for that drink is life, itself;
consider no stranger accursed;
we need look out for all else.
The drink they seek is not water;
it is the knowledge of life to begin;
a drink empowered by the Father;
and they’ll never thirst again.
The substance; not really a drink;
information and thought combined;
it restored the way that we think;
with the thoughts about love refined.
For, over righteousness; they hungered;
and they thirsted over perfection;
and from it all, they then inferred;
from their actions they’d receive rejection.
But strangers don’t often know;
whether hungry or thirsty, they be;
and knowing not, which way to go;
on a path that will set them free.
The only thing that they understand
is they hunger and thirst within;
and they’ll eat or drink what they can;
and be hungry and thirsty again.
But when they accept the Master’s cup;
and drink from the water within;
their stubborn ways, they’ll give up;
and they’ll never thirst again.
