Feeling Alive

Life is much more than a beating heart;
energy, within; gives it it’s breath;
when does it end; and when did it start;
what is the meaning of death?

Life’s energies can set a body reeling;
to where we no longer feel alive;
emotions determine what we’re feeling;
and some lose the will to survive.

Life; the physical body’s energy host;
begins the pendulum’s swing;
dying is called; giving up the ghost;
death cuts the puppet’s strings.

The energy, called life; is a social being;
needing the energy of love at its side;
when the emotions stop hearing and seeing;
somehow the heart has died.

The physical body somehow continues;
needing love, to light the way;
searching to find love in other venues;
trying to live another day.

Feelng alive is a descriptive expression;
of a body filled with hope and love;
being alone often leads to depression;
seeking solace from above.

Depression is a corridor, stealing our breath;
since life has become an obligation;
some even find themselves praying for death;
while the wise, await their salvation.
