Fear is the great crippling disease;
it freezes a part of the mind;
preventing success with ease;
while shriveling up your spine.
Fear is brought on by many things;
such as spiders, bees, and bats;
there’s no accounting for all it brings;
public speaking, darkness, and rats.
Our best defense is to simply avoid;
all the objects of our fears;
that makes some of us paranoid;
dodging little spiders for years.
The most pernicious fears of all;
the fear of failure or success;
far more harmful than fear of a fall;
or in public, in a state of undress.
Since success is a goal of most;
of it, we must never be afraid;
some treat it, like fearing a ghost;
their fear-weakened spine; displayed.
Those who fear failure are just as bad;
they’re cowards; afraid to compete;
all of life’s challenges makes them sad;
and they’ve already accepted defeat.
Both of these fears are actually the same;
lacking faith in our ability to achieve;
so we pass on, to God, the blame;
because we lack the faith to believe.
