Consider all life’s greatest fears;
ones which cause the most pain;
bringing sorrows, and often, tears;
but, also resulting in gain.
Fear is nothing; but an absence of trust;
for the all powerful, within us, resides.
Darkness reminds, we’re only mere dust;
and our faith, remains hidden, inside.
We think we’re afraid of people and things;
forgeting, the omnipotence of the Light;
we’re fearing all, the evil one brings;
and focusing on the darkness of night.
It’s been said, “Anger is fear in disguise,”
but anger never hides behind a mask;
Cowardice is what anger really implies;
for our faith is not up to the task.
Fear announces that we know our weakness;
and wish to go hide in ultimate shame;
some of us know, and fear our uniqueness;
genuflecting, in evil’s name.
The truth is that we’re sent here to die;
which, comes to many, a surprise;
faith teaches us: on the Master, rely;
when body dies; the soul will arise.
Many of us think we are scared to die;
but, that’s only an excuse we give;
the truth about fear, is we don’t try;
for, we are afraid to live.
