Failures Give Up

Failures Give Up

I look back, in sadness, on yesterday;
remembering all my past mistakes;
attempting to construct, a new today;
not knowing if I have what it takes.

I’ve lived many lives; combined into one;
doing my best to succeed;
once all of my horse trading is done;
my reach is greater than my need;

We live our lives in constant competition;
round and round the roulette wheels go;
even our success leads to greater ambition;
over and over, pride and greed grow.

On the wheels of success; we live or die;
why not roll the dice, one more time;
my answer to your loss; is, “nice try”
what was once yours; is now mine.

Destiny is a game where life deals the cards;
circumstance is life’s stacked deck;
losers in life; only gain your regards;
the cost of sticking our their neck.

Life is a gamble, with very high stakes;
won’t you just play one more game;
success or failure; depends on the breaks;
but life’s failures are never the same.

Winners believe there’s no cost for success;
winning pride and a victory cup;
although, failures feel both guilt and duress;
life taught them when to give up.
