Faces Of A Diamond

Diamonds have a great many facets;
more than most people know;
such sparkle and beauty are assets;
at least, most consider them so.

We like for people to wear one face;
though many have a spare one hiding;
the problem of having one to replace;
comes from the difficulty, deciding.

Diamonds wear their beauty on each face;
while many people hide beauty within;
diamonds are upfront, about their disgrace;
while people often hide their chagrin.

Diamonds are the hardest substance on earth;
with no softness found within;
people, from the first day of their birth;
have a soft spot where Love enters in.

If the facets of the diamonds were tainted;
very few would grant them attention;
but the faces of people generously painted;
have come to be a natural convention.

Diamonds; a picture of what God could bring;
mankind; the creation He brought;
a gemstone befitting the Sovereign King.
And man, was the gemstone God sought.

Knowing that troubles are at God’s command;
very often, makes life seem too tough;
And so, all in all, I’ve come to understand;
we are, each one, a diamond, in the rough.
