Every Mistake I Made

My life is totally littered with mistakes;
often, my own; sometimes, by others;
frequently attributed to just bad breaks;
some; the tragic loss of lovers.

Many are mistakes; I can never forget;
within the cobwebs of my mind;
there’s just so much I deeply regret;
why can’t I leave them behind?

Some things I’ve said were taken wrong;
why can’t I just make them right;
my memories are like a melancholy song;
every day brings a sleepless night.

I can still recall the good times; as well;
tho such times, seem to never last;
why is it; mistakes are where I dwell;
yesterday has long ago passed.

Memories are road maps; from yesterday;
showing us where we have been;
so we can chart a new quest, for today;
while totally aware of our sin.

God has awareness of mistakes I’ve made;
they’ve filled his heart with regret;
memories come before me, on parade;
God won’t let me ever forget.

God is aware of everything we do;
seeing through every charade;
by love; in death, all are made new;
every mistake I made.
