Do you ever talk to a machine,
listen to a made-up voice?
To answer; you’d like to scream;
for you’re only given a choice.
For that machine hasn’t a mind;
it doesn’t know what you’ve said;
tho it acts friendly; it’s not kind;
its friendliness is made up instead.
It’s just a mechanical device; a machine;
it holds no opinions; nor feelings;
its thought process, isn’t too keen;
with no conversationalist dealings.
Different words, trigger its response;
giving you the answers it has on hand;
ignoring even the slightest nuance;
often saying, “I don’t undersand.”
Some will respond to a simple command;
rather than to remain argumentative;
allow you to talk to a human, on demand;
as soon as you say, “Representative!”
Still we continue to talk to machines;
no matter how foolish the conversations;
such nonsense most certainly demeans;
and yet many display no reservations.
I surely don’t wish to be one to demean;
but it seems more than just a bit odd.
If you can seriously talk to a machine;
then, why can’t you talk to God?
