End Of The Road

What happens as I reach, the end of my road;
will I simply, drop off the end of the earth?
I was destined to carry a special load;
ordained, long before birth.

This life was never meant to be a vacation;
nor, is it designed to seem equal or fair;
it’s meant to challenge your claim to salvation;
to demonstrate your compassion and care.

A seemingly endless road of great sorrows;
amidst challenging mountainous terrain;
fighting the dread of hopeless tomorrows;
slipping on mountain roads in the rain.

Often, valleys brought loneliness and heat;
wishing I could, somehow, resume my climb;
bringing me to the precipice of defeat;
temptation suggesting, I simply resign.

Often the valleys contain desert sands ;
where the venomous serpents hide;
upseting our most valued plans;
where evil, within it, resides.

Life’s road of discovery has a plan;
a circular path beginning to end;
completing a journey to where, began;
then, starting all over again.

Wisdom is found on the higher plateaus;
and always requires a determination.
wisdom’s cost; the thorn on the rose;
but wisdom leads to salvation.
