Eclectic Faith
Eclectic Faith
Every religion has all the truth;
and wants to show us the way;
each has their own form of proof;
and, to their own god, they pray.
Everyone becomes a know-it-all;
experts on how to behave;
pride causes everyone one to fall;
to something; each is a slave.
Faith is the essence of life’s mystery;
ten commandments; written in stone;
conflicting narratives fill all our history
absolute truth is in faith, alone.
False prophets abound throughout history;
healing all varieties of cancers;
but, life and death; still swim in mystery;
faith, alone; has the answers.
Truth is the cornerstone of life’s foundation;
the will of God; is its role.
Love is the perfection of all creation;
the consciousness of the soul.
Sincere prodigals still seek the truth;
contested by the arrogant and proud;
the godless remain much more aloof;
laughing at our faith; outloud.
Those who love; are given faith to believe;
for which; they gladly give thanks;
tho they know some things are hard to conceive;
they trust God, to fill in the blanks.
