Dirty Words

What is it that makes a word dirty;
is it its shape or it’s sound?
Some words become overly flirty;
but they’re not welcome around.

Words, born with no meaning in stone;
defining what their author may think.
only significant to their author alone;
to others; those same words stink.

It can’t be the spelling or sound of a word;
such cannot bring hate or shame;
to think otherwise, is more than absurd;
innocent words, don’t deserve the blame.

What bizarre trends of thought;
transforms mere remnants of sound;
into what thoughts, not ought;
and be bandied around?

And what of thoughts, actually abusive;
carried by words to frighten or alarm
creating banter, considered obtrusive;
causing others fear or harm.

Words, by themselves, have no meaning;
it’s our thoughts that turn them to smut;
while, those words, we’re carefully screening;
wicked thoughts keep minds in a rut.

Words are simply tools of communication;
they bear not a semblence of shame.
It’s the evil of division and discrimination;
that have earned all of dirt’s blame.

Words will always simply be tools,
to communicate thoughts from above;
danger comes from thoughtless fools;
who fail to communicate Love.
