Destiny' Purpose

I once had a great love in my life;
one that would last forever;
I could envison her as my wife;
with nothing between us, ever.

But never was it meant to be;
we were too many years apart;
she was far too young for me;
so destiny withheld her heart.

Others were hidden behind the stage;
ones who would help me to grow;
those designed for me to engage;
giving wisdom I needed to know.

Each time I lost a love in my life;
I thought that the world had ended;
whether it be friend; or even a wife;
deepest loneliness often descended

But, no one is ever really lost;
your loves are still all around;
disappointment is part of life’s cost;
and lost friends can still be found.

Destiny has plans for everyone;
something important to do;
if we don’t do it; it won’t get done;
there’s no one to do it but you

Destiny often exerts his control;
sometimes intervening with death;
for his own purpose he must extol;
death isn’t really one’s last breath.

Most of our values have become askew;
no longer in line with the Master above;
there’s nothing in life more important to do;
than a lifetime of spreading God’s Love.
