Ignorance Is Bliss
Some say that ignorance is bliss;
but, how, on earth, could it be;
knowledge is like a lover’s kiss;
only truth, can set us all free.
Is it bliss; that the blind can’t see;
or, that the deaf can’t hear;
what can be wrong with you and me;
is it the truth of God; we fear?
Ignorance is a trait of innocent sheep;
following where they are led;
we, the guilty; have promises to keep;
the ignorant are spiritually dead.
We are the sheep who know the truth;
yet; where fools lead; we follow;
fools demand, that we ignore all proof;
so, in ignorant bliss; we wallow.
Why, to fools, do we remain submissive;
succumbing to evil’s demands;
when, to our Lord; fools are dismissive;
ignoring all His commands.
Mere ignorance cannot bring us bliss;
when ignorance leads to hate;
Judas betrayed his Master, with a kiss;
a kiss that sealed his fate.
We can close our eyes; when evil comes;
and, by ignorant bliss, be defined;
marching in cadence to history’s drums;
the most guilty; chose to be blind.
