Carried By The Wind

Carried By The Wind

We are all just elements of dust;
blowing, softly in the wind;
each seeking a future to trust;
not knowing where to begin.

Not mindful of a future or past;
newly created for the earth;
we know the present won’t last;
but, today is a day of new birth.

We enter the earth, a grain of sand;
during creation’s time of maternity;
we are the seed of the new born man;
destined to live for eternity.

Wind blown waves, bring in sand;
to populate the river of life;
life’s precious seed, sent on demand;
to endure its season of strife.

We didn’t begin our life as a seed;
we’ve always been in God’s thought;
change was brought about by need;
we’re the words of life, God wrought.

We’ve faced many seasons of change;
during life’s cycle of ebb and flow;
it may seem confusing and strange;
but harvest comes, after we grow.

On death, the sand retreats to the soul;
once again, carried by the wind;
life has accomplished its appointed role;
and, its time for a new life to begin.
