Broken Ties
Thin is the thread of trust;
so very easily broken;
break it, if you must;
friendship is merely token.
Promises are love contracted;
originally sealed with a kiss;
soon after; all of it’s redacted;
leaving a love you’ll miss.
Promises are commonly made;
an escape clause hidden within;
love is worn, a cheap brocade;
such love, did never begin.
Love is only a bond for two;
any more, becomes a parade;
family ties, often won’t do;
such love is really charade.
Groups have difficulty bonding;
It’s easy to pry them apart;
with someone, often absconding;
divisons shatter each heart.
None can defeat any close bond;
no one will ever try;
divide and conquer, they’ll respond;
once divided, the loser will die.
Heavy the head who wears the crown;
knowing what evil is to come;
wallowing in guilt he’d surely drown;
knowing that he’s the one.
