Exactly who is it, that we define as a fool;
does it relate to how much one knows;
or could it be that he’s thought as a tool;
because, what he’s told, is where he goes?
Fools are the two legged sheep in the pasture;
going wherever, or however directed;
frequently in search of a shepherd, or master;
unaware of how the dots are connected.
In the darkest of nights; they see sun shining;
wishing and hoping for better days;
in the evilest deed, they find a silver lining;
when they’re young, it’s called a phase.
The question is: Were they born a fool;
or did they simply become one?
They began their life as creation’s jewel;
and turned into creation’s dumb one.
The fool originally ate the fruit, forbidden;
yielding to the serpent’s temptation;
and yet, they fully expected to be forgiven,
for they failed to understand causation.
Both the serpent and the fool were sent below;
the earth, now becoming their home;
ignoring the obvious; both needed to grow;
lacking faith, both became alone.
All fools then rejected the Father of Love;
by the serpent, the man was outsmarted;
both ignored the maxim created above:
a fool and his God are soon parted.
