Betrayed With A Kiss

Betrayed With A Kiss

Many people seek love and attention;
wanting to take; more than they give;
others live in doubt, and apprehension;
lost in the life that they live.

The world is full of movers and shakers;
humility comes at a cost;
most, among them, are reality’s takers;
where honesty often is lost.

Many a life has their destiny rearranged;
by false promises they’ve received;
a bare faced lie; for the truth; exchanged;
that the guileless chose to believe.

Many even cheat their partners in business;
boldly claiming, “You have my word.”
fraudulant thieves expect our forgiveness;
their arrogance, more than absurd.

Perhaps even greater is the oath of forever;
willingly given; then ready to dismiss;
a solomn promise that none was to sever;
promised to God; and sealed with a kiss.

Many say promises are made to be broken;
others say their word is their bond;
truth must be lived; not merely spoken;
for the Judge awaits, beyond.

All must be faithful to the Master, above;
a promise to God; we cannot dismiss;
remember the greatest betrayal of Love:
the Master was betrayed with a kiss.
