Apocalypse

What happened to the world, I knew;
it seems to be fading away;
evil is planning a bloodless coup;
as night, overcomes day;

How is love, overwhelmed by hate;
what about life’s cohesion;
earth has become a helpless estate;
in a world split by division.

Why can we not; forgive and forget;
it’s how it’s all meant to be;
much that I’ve done; I still regret;
love sets the prisoners free.

We are the captives of evil thought;
in a world scheduled to end;
often the victims of things, taught;
in death; truth will ascend.

Only truth; sets the captives free;
in a world, swimming in lies;
only love; can live for eternity;
lies are the devil’s disguise.

Evil causes this helpless estate;
faith, alone, is the cure;
trust God; before it’s too late;
only his love is pure.

One last battle looms straight ahead;
as the apocalypse draws near;
after armageddon; evil is dead;
love brings an end to fear.
