Angels Among Us
The Master said we’d entertain angels;
for mankind was in need of care;
they’d appear in our lives as strangers;
even though, we’d be unaware.
So we find ourselves gazing upon faces;
wondering which ones, they might be;
staring at many in the obvious places;
expecting, some angels, we’d see.
Would we recognize them without wings;
or would their actions set them apart;
picking them out, by a voice that sings;
surely, we can’t see their heart?
We thought that they’d be few in number;
since coming from heaven above;
perhaps we’ll see them when we slumber;
or maybe even someone we love.
But angels can be found, all around us;
they are not, at all, really hidden;
the truth might actually confound us;
they live daily among the forbidden.
You won’t find angels among man;
mankind is too filled with regrets;
angels were here before life began;
more likely, they’ll be in our pets;
The mystery of angels may confound us;
though many don’t believe or care;
Still, even tho angels remain around us;
most, don’t even know, they're there.
