An Orphan Of God
An Orphan Of God
What ever happened to innocence;
did she die, or simply move on?
The helpless victim of love’s impotence;
it’s hard to believe, she’s gone.
She stood convicted; without any trial;
her sentence wouldn’t be lenient;
an orphan of dreams; considered vile;
her presence; deemed inconvenient.
She wasn’t needed; she didn’t belong;
she couldn’t be allowed to exist;
even though she had never done wrong;
she was like a cancer; or cyst.
She was ready to arrive; but couldn’t come;
temporarily, housed; safe and warm;
she was evil’s victim; waiting to succumb;
and, from life; she was viciously torn.
Unbeknownst to man; she was an orphan of God;
all her life and future lay ahead;
that guilt didn’t matter; it seemed rather odd;
an innocent child was now dead.
The almighty state, proclaimed all authority;
its robed judges, hiding in seclusion;
superceeding the Great Judge’s seniority;
allowing society’s final solution.
This orphan of God; was in the way;
they didn’t require any pretext;
evil will soon proclaim it a new day;
and you; my child; will be next!
