An Exercise In Futility

An Exercise In Futility

Life was created for peace and tranquility;
in a distant kingdom above;
we have made it an exercise in futility;
vacating the purpose of love.

Perfection was the plan; the Father’s will;
a family is the metaphor of life;
rejection prompted mankind to kill;
gaining the inheritance of strife.

We live in kingdom of utter futility;
demanding to be in control;
sacrificing all our sense of nobility;
endangering our very soul.

We chose to cast God out of our schools;
perfection was never our goal;
deeply flawed man, made his own rules;
denying there is a soul.

Government was given the Master’s throne;
its proclamations, all must obey;
claiming all wisdom was theirs alone;
becoming more evil each day.

Governments become rooted in corruption;
money became the ultimate goal;
wealth; not love; became life’s seduction;
since governments had no soul.

The Master had given us a life to live;
a world of peace and tranquility;
government gave us, all it could give;
an exercise in futility.
