An Empty Love
An Empty Love
I have loved several women in my life;
enough to give up my liberty;
only two, have ever become my wife;
did anyone ever love me?
Love is a rather mysterious blessing;
it’s more often spoken; than felt;
love is a time two souls are caressing;
when two hearts into one, melt.
Many confuse true love; with like;
many are simply close friends;
love is riding a one wheeled bike;
it often results in bad ends.
Love is more about giving; than taking;
tho many, just want to receive;
selfishness often becomes heart braking;
causing two hearts to grieve.
Love is about putting someone else first;
putting your lover on a throne;
lust isn’t true love; it’s a temporary thirst;
love is reserved for one, alone.
Unfortunately; love is often one-sided;
when one loves; the other, does not;
such loves are referred to as unrequited;
where passions never become hot.
Today, all of my loves have been one-sided;
I’m forced to accept my reality;
all passions are voided with loves unrequited;
and no one is left to love me.
