Life is a toboggan ride down a steep hill;
while in the midst of a falling snow;
there is no doubt; life gives all a thrill;
in the end, there’s no place to go.

Where is the place, we can jump off;
as the winds threaten our health;
mindful of the very slightest cough;
while hovering over our wealth.

We live, as tho life will last forever;
all the while, death gives his chase;
Finally, at last, he breaks the tether;
that links us all to our heavenly base.

Life unfolds in alarming complexity;
rapidly, death, makes his advances;
some find themselves in perplexity;
while others, take life’s chances.

Many are the lessons, we’re to learn;
and, upon us, they all are thrust;
we’ve much to discover and discern;
but the greatest of all, is trust.

Just as we trust those who gave us birth;
we trust that One who gave us being;
tho we now inhabit a nursery called earth;
the truth of reality, remains unseen.

And when we reach the end of this ride;
and, awareness, not death, shall remain;
we will learn the faith to finally decide,
to arise from the snow, to do it again.
