All's Fair

All’s Fair ?

Everything’s fair; in love and war;
at least; so I’ve been told;
in search of the one you adore;
a vein, comprised of pure gold.

Love is the game; devoid of all rules;
nothing must get in our way;
playing the game; makes us all fools;
our love turns into our prey.

Love has become a constant competition;
some become winners; others, losers;
an ebb and flow of frustrating repetition;
some are chosen; the others, choosers.

Love is the ultimate prize; we all seek;
it’s a prize; most magnificent;
once love’s discovered; we become complete;
without it; we’re insignificant.

Destiny occaisionally gets in our way;
on one sad day; we discover;
one on our mind; every hour of the day,
is deeply in love with another.

Why must we sacrifice honor for love;
love was never designed as a test;
destiny belongs to our Father, above;
love was our greatest bequest.

The Master always supplies for our need;
competition should never win out;
love ordained; shall forever succeed;
our love of God is what life’s about.
