Agree To Disagree
Disagreement is a most dangerous season;
one is frequently at another’s throat;
it matters very little, what caused the reason;
around us we dig our own moat.
Isolated from all others, who are different;
we fail to form a unity and bond;
on each side of an issue, each is a dissident;
in the heart, the mind, and beyond.
Tho disagreement is a dangerous season;
it causes each side to surmise;
many opinions change; faced with reason;
eliciting unified surprise.
If all people always walk in total agreement;
bad decisions become carved in stone.
If our only choice becomes silent appeasement;
then Evil becomes left on his own.
We all must love that neighbor that disagrees;
for we are both sheep of the flock;
the Shepherd doesn’t expect either to appease;
causing all that love to stop.
Only the Shepherd is the Master, in control;
granting freedom to the sheep in his pasture;
freedom is essential for the love in the soul;
to imprison thoughts; leads to disaster.
In life, we disagree, so much of the time;
no one knows what future’s foreseeable;
it only makes sense; in all things; be kind;
disagree, without becoming disagreeable.
